YURI1’s content rating system is intended to help users understand the types of content and levels of intimate depiction that may appear in works published on the Website.
The Website currently follows an overall 16+ content standard. Individual works may differ in subject matter, story, and presentation. Users are encouraged to refer to the relevant tags and this guide when determining whether a work is suitable for them.
If the overall or individual content-rating standards of the Website are changed in the future, this statement may be updated accordingly. The latest version published on the Website shall apply.
1. YURI1’s 16+ Content Standard
The 16+ standard used by YURI1 generally includes the following:
Sexual Content
May include strong emotional or atmospheric buildup, touching, removal of clothing, passionate kissing, and similar intimate depictions.
When more intimate sexual activity is involved, the core process is handled through a “fade to black” approach rather than direct depiction. Genitals and explicit sexual acts are not directly described.
Violence / Gore
May include relatively detailed battle injuries, combat scenes, or mild psychological thriller elements, but does not focus on torture, extreme abuse, or highly brutal imagery.
Language / Themes
May include realistic social issues, organized crime, mental health-related themes, or limited use of profanity.
2. Content Not Included Within the 16+ Standard
The following content is not included within the Website’s general 16+ scope:
Sexual Content
Direct depiction of genitals, bodily fluids, explicit sexual positions, graphic sexual acts, or explicit physiological responses.
Violence / Gore
Detailed depictions of decapitation, dismemberment, torture, extreme gore, or highly brutal violence.
Illegal and Sensitive Topics
Detailed depictions of drug production or use, suicide methods, or extreme forms of psychological deviance.
3. Intimacy Context Level
Some works use an Intimacy Context Level tag to indicate the degree of intimate content within the work.
This tag primarily reflects the presentation, atmosphere, and frequency of intimate content. It does not simply indicate whether a work contains romance or sexual elements.
(1) Intimacy · Surface
Recognition: Generally remains mild and primarily focuses on the story and emotional development, making it suitable for readers who prefer plot-focused or romance-focused content.
Presentation: Primarily focuses on emotional tension, with physical contact generally limited to kissing and embracing. Intimate scenes are handled through a fade-to-black approach.
(2) Intimacy · Suggestive
Recognition: A range of suggestive and more intimate depictions, where physical tension and sensual elements may be noticeable.
Presentation: Still primarily focuses on emotional tension, with physical contact generally limited to kissing and embracing. Depending on the story, it may include sensual or suggestive depictions of the body and physical gestures, as well as more suggestive intimate scenes or implications, without further depicting the process of sexual activity.
(3) Intimacy · Candid
Recognition: The story includes more than one clearly intimate section, with a more mature presentation of intimate interactions.
Presentation: Contains a certain degree of Sexual Tension and may, when required by the story, include undressing, touching, breathing, body heat, and intimate atmosphere. Details involving explicit areas or specific actions are conveyed through implication, atmosphere, or more poetic language.
(4) Intimacy · Very Pervasive
Recognition: Intimate scenes or suggestive language occupy more of the work, or intimate content itself forms an important part of the work’s presentation style, with a high frequency of occurrence.
Presentation: The work contains a consistently high level of suggestive and intimate atmosphere, with intimate scenes or related language appearing frequently. However, the specific depiction of each intimate scene remains within YURI1’s 16+ standard, with explicit areas and specific actions conveyed through implication, atmosphere, or indirect language.
※ All Intimacy Context Levels remain subject to the overall 16+ content standards defined in Section 1 of this guide. A higher level indicates a higher degree or frequency of intimate content, and does not mean that the content exceeds the 16+ standard.
4. Content Rating and Local Standards
YURI1 uses its own 16+ content standard, informed by content-rating practices in Taiwan. This is an internal content guideline and does not represent an official Taiwanese age classification.
Content-rating standards and legal requirements may differ between countries, regions, and media formats. Users should consider the applicable laws, platform policies, and content-rating standards of their own location.
Where applicable laws or platform rules impose stricter requirements, those requirements shall take precedence.
